As you can see on the diagram below, the only way to get good print quality is to follow this advice:

• You must use a good printer and set it up correctly (especially the print temperature)
• You must use the correct Thermal Transfer ribbon ink formulation for your labels, all ribbons cannot be used on all kinds of labels
• You must use the appropriate labels, suitable for your needs and your application

The following specifications are needed in order for us to provide the correct ribbon for your printer:

• The Ink side (is the ink on the inside or outside of the roll of ribbons, depending on the printer’s model and manufacturer).
• The size of the CORE (the standard sizes are ½” or 12mm, 1” or 25 mm and 40mm).
• The Width of the roll. We recommend to always use a ribbon a little wider than the labels you are using (4mm wider or 2mm on each side)
• The Length of the roll. (The maximum ribbon length depends on the printer’s model and manufacturer).

Wax 1LW Ink Formulation (Low Temperature):

This ink formulation is for use with all common Vellum paper. This ribbon has a high resistance to solvents and needs lower print temperatures than all other formulations. These ribbons provide a very good print quality with very low temperature and increase your Printhead’s life.

The kind of ribbon is used for print of synthetic labels. It has a high resistance against rubbing and solvent. The ribbon is specifically used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and electronic industries. This needs a high print temperature.
